Maraliza de Haan is a qualified social worker who has been in the field palliative care for approximately 20 years. She started her career as a psychosocial manager at a hospice in South Africa and subsequently a national children’s palliative care coordinator at the Hospice Palliative Care Association. After moving to the Netherlands in 2012 she has been an international trainer of children’s palliative care health professionals. Her training topics include: communication with children and families facing a life-threatening/ limiting condition, family counseling, assessment, bereavement, and spiritual care.
