Meet Robert Brazie, an ordained United Methodist Pastor serving as a Palliative Care Chaplain for Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fresno, Ca.  He serves patients, families, significant others, and the hospital medical staff.  He, also,  assists the Hospital Chaplain in visitation with non-palliative hospital patients and families.

I applaud the Network for doing this series. This chaplain makes some excellent points about the necessity of care of the spirit in palliative care and the differences between spiritual care and religious care. Indeed no one should claim they are doing whole person care or palliative care if they do not include spiritual care. That said, this chaplain does not appear to be fully integrated into the health care team as required by all standards and guidelines.
